I designed and built a polished website for a Cornwall-based business that provides accommodation for church leaders. The brief called for a calm, welcoming visual style, straightforward navigation, and clear calls to action.

The Capstone Project

This was the capstone project for my software development course in early 2026. It combines customer-facing booking flows with an administrative backend, creating a complete hotel platform focused on usability, maintainability, and clean code.

Users can create accounts, log in securely, search for stays, and complete bookings through a clear interface. Hotel staff can manage reservations and availability from the back office, giving the platform a practical real-world workflow.

I built this as a test project for my brother's photography business, with a focus on a clean visual layout, easy navigation, and strong presentation of imagery. It was a good opportunity to refine both user experience and visual rhythm.

The masonry-style gallery layout was especially useful for making the page feel dynamic while still working smoothly across screen sizes.

Hello, I'm Verity. I'm a qualified Full Stack Software Developer based in Truro, Cornwall. I began teaching myself to code in 2024 after previously working in educational administration, and formally trained as a developer in 2025-26.

I've loved rediscovering my creative side building websites and web applications. I'm always learning, always improving, and I genuinely enjoy helping individuals, charities and small businesses by building them a great website.
